Discover what's happening in your community this week!

🌟A little note
Summer is on a full blast and we are busy visiting all the pools, waterparks, and splash pads around. We did travel a bit farther this week to Great Wolf Lodge in Webster for a few days. It took us about an hour and 20 minutes to get there and was so much fun, and equally exhausting!

This local family owned and operated restaurant celebrated their grand opening on May 23rd. Owners Narmada, Shyam and Ram own another location in Houston, making this their 2nd location in the area. The 3 owners are all chefs and prepare each dish in house with authentic ingredients and recipes. Give them a visit and try the highly recommended Biryani and Chettinadu curry!

🌳 Outdoor Spotlight
W G Jones State Forest- This state park is so nice and such a good hike for the family. It has wide woodchip trails, a few ponds and is super shaded. Overall it’s super flat terrain and mostly a walk through the forest but a really nice one. This is also a popular photography spot because of how beautiful it is at sunset! Free admission!

📍 Give Back To Our Community
Willis Honey Man Fundraiser- Mark Simmons was a local man who took over a spot selling his honey on 1097. He was hit by a drunk driver last week and he is still in critical condition, despite multiple surgeries. The community is rallying around him, including Keke’s Snowballs who has started selling his honey. Consider donating to his Gofund me or buying some honey to support his recovery.
📍 Small Business Spotlight
This local small business is family-owned and operating for well over a decade here in Conroe. They offer lots of gently used items from furniture, household, kids, and clothes. I found a few cute seasonal items and found the shop super organized. They have a great selection but it’s not so stuffed you can’t move things on racks. They also have dressing rooms to try items on. I will say that there was a weird/mold smell that caught me off guard as we walked in but we got used to it and the clothes did not absorb it.

Did You Know? In 1931, the discovery of the Conroe Oil Field transformed the city into a major oil-producing region. By 1935, the field had produced 40 million barrels of oil.
Have an event or deal to share please let me know? I can’t promise to feature every one, because I’m doing my best to keep the newsletter focused and easy to read but I promise to hear you and try to make it work.
